4th Annual Responsible CEO of the Year Award Nominations Announced

Winners Revealed at COMMIT!Forum Awards Dinner in New York City on September 27th

Edison, NJ September 8, 2011, Corporate Responsibility (CR) Magazine today announced the nominees for the 4th Annual Responsible CEO of the Year Awards.  The following leaders were nominated based on success aligning their interests with those of thousands of stakeholders to do well by doing good.

  • Lori Dickerson Fouché, President and CEO, Fireman’s Fund
  • Ilene Gordon, Chairman, President and CEO, Corn Products

  • David Jones, Global CEO, Havas and Co-Founder, One Young World
  • Donald Knauss, Chairman and CEO, The Clorox Company
  • Fred Krupp, President, Environmental Defense Fund
  • Paul Rooke, Chairman and CEO, Lexmark
  • Jigar Shah, CEO, Carbon War Room

The winners will be announced at the COMMIT!Forum Awards Dinner on September 27th, 6:00pm at the Javits Center in New York City.  Awardees were selected based on scope of impact on their organization and community, extent to which they drove key initiatives, and the individual reputation or professional risk taken to achieve significant change.  One of this year’s recipients will receive the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award, established to recognize an individual whose risk-taking, vision and pioneering spirit have led to significant achievement in the CR field over the course of their career.

“These awards are not about self-aggrandizement or celebrity boosterism,” said CR Magazine editor and publisher Dirk Olin. “They recognize nothing less than a form of social evolution and  key corporate thought leaders who have pioneered that progress. All of the nominees have raised performance by raising standards.

”The Master of Ceremonies for the 2011 Awards Dinner will be Terry Moran, Co-Anchor of ABC News “Nightline” since 2005.  He will be joined by keynote Rush Kidder, President & Founder of the Institute for Global Ethics and author of “Moral Courage” and “How Good People Make Tough Choices,” praised by Jimmy Carter as “a thought-provoking guide to enlightened and progressive personal behavior.”

CR Magazine will also reveal the rankings of the 10 Best Corporate Citizens in the following industries: financial; information technology; materials; consumer items; media and entertainment; business services; consumer staples; utilities; energy; and health care.  This is the first year CR Magazine will recognize companies by industry, applying the methodology from the 100 Best Corporate Citizens List.
