Reporting & Transparency
Overview
A new era of social change is upon us. In a provocative speech on January 24, 2011, USAID Administrator Dr. Raj Shah said: “This agency is no longer satisfied with writing big checks to big contractors and calling it development.” The private sector, social enterprises and entrepreneurs are finding new, market-based solutions to social challenges and are revolutionizing social change in the process. But in this exciting time, it is important to take a step back and think about what frameworks and standards companies need to agree upon to ensure that tomorrow’s efforts are transparent, measurable and strategic. Find resources here on existing key frameworks including the Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Compact and Carbon Disclosure Project.
